- Rachel Isabel Yang Bingjie is a pioneering Singaporean pole vaulter who started the discipline in 2006, suffered a career-ending spinal injury in 2009, made an unexpected return in 2010 to break her national record, briefly retired in 2012, then returned again in 2015 after giving birth to her first child, going on to win Singapore's first-ever SEA Games medal in the pole vault with a national record of 3.90m. A multiple national record holder who has competed at the Asian Games and across multiple editions of the SEA Games, Rachel's extraordinary resilience across a career spanning nearly two decades makes her one of Singapore's most inspirational athletics figures.
