- Quek Jun Jie Calvin is a Singaporean hurdler and the national record holder in the men's 400m hurdles, having become the first Singaporean to break the 50-second barrier in the event with a time of 49.75 seconds in August 2025. He first broke the national record at a SEA Games trial in 2022, before winning Singapore's first SEA Games medal in the event since 1969 at the SEA Games 2021 in Hanoi, and a second bronze at the SEA Games 2023 in Cambodia, where he was also part of the 4x400m relay quartet that broke a 49-year-old national record. He also represented Singapore at the Asian Games 2022. After crediting his transformation to coach Luis Cunha, he delivered a historic performance at the SEA Games 2025 in Bangkok, clocking 50.27 seconds to win gold, Singapore's first men's 400m hurdles title since 1965.
