  • Profile
    • Veronica Shanti Pereira is the fastest Southeast Asian woman ever in the 100m and 200m events, holding Singapore national records of 11.20s in the 100m and 22.57s in the 200m, as well as the 200m SEA Games record of 22.69s and the Asian Athletics Championships games record of 22.70s. After losing two scholarships in a week following a difficult 2018 season, she produced the greatest comeback in Singapore athletics history, winning gold in the 200m and silver in the 100m at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, Singapore's first athletics medals at the Games since 1974. At the 2025 SEA Games in Bangkok, she retained her 100m title in a season's best of 11.36 seconds, before going on to claim her fourth 200m SEA Games gold medal, crossing the line in 23.09 seconds. A two-time Olympian and one of Singapore's most celebrated athletes, Shanti's journey from adversity to continental dominance has inspired a generation of Singaporean track and field athletes.
