- Profile
- Amir Rusyaidi Osman's journey to the SEA Games was built on a decade of perseverance through setbacks, stagnation, heart complications and the challenge of juggling school and work alongside training. A national record holder in the men's road mile and the 3000m steeplechase, he made his SEA Games debut at the 2025 edition in Bangkok at the age of 23, describing his arrival at the Games as a quiet but unmistakable sense of arrival after everything he had overcome. He trained at the University of Western Australia in Perth, posting personal bests of 3:59.61 in the 1500m and 9:36.52 in the steeplechase in the lead-up to the Games.
