- Chantal Liew Li-Shan became the first female Singaporean open water swimmer to qualify for the Olympic Games, after qualifying through a continental quota spot at the FINA Olympic Marathon Swim Qualifier in Setubal, Portugal. She first made her mark at the 2017 SEA Games, winning a silver medal in the women's 10km open water swim and becoming the first Singaporean woman to win a medal in the event. At the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, she won silver in the women's 10km open water event, held off the coast of Ko Lan island in Chonburi.
