- Yip Pin Xiu is Singapore's most decorated Paralympian, blazing a trail for para sport in Singapore when she became the country's first-ever Paralympic gold medallist at the 2008 Beijing Games. She holds world records in both the 50m and 100m backstroke S2 events. At the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, she achieved a historic three-peat by winning gold in both the 100m and 50m backstroke S2 events for the third consecutive Games, bringing her total Paralympic gold medal tally to seven, with her haul of Paralympic medals comprising seven golds and a silver. She has been inducted into Singapore's Sports Hall of Fame and is widely regarded as Southeast Asia's most decorated swimming Paralympian.
