- Sophie Soon made her international debut at the 2015 ASEAN Para Games and went on to compete at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, finishing fourth in the Women's 100m Breaststroke SB12. She subsequently won silver and a new personal best at the 2022 World Para Swimming Championships. At the 2023 ASEAN Para Games in Cambodia, she won gold in both the Women's 50m Freestyle S13 and Women's 100m Butterfly S12, setting national records in both events. At the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, she competed in her second Games despite battling a serious elbow injury for much of the preparation period, displaying the resilience and determination that have defined her career.
