- Jazlene Tan Shihui, who has an intellectual disability, started swimming at ten years old, having loved being in the water from a young age but often being too unwell to learn earlier. She won her first gold medal in the 100m Breaststroke at the Singapore Press Holding Para Swimming Competition in 2016 at the age of fourteen. She believes in hard work, determination and never giving up in the pursuit of her goals. At the 2022 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, she made her Asian Para Games debut in the Women's 100m Breaststroke SB14, also contributing to Singapore's Mixed Relay 4x100m Freestyle squad. Her continued participation in international para swimming competitions, including the Citi Para Swimming World Series and the Virtus Oceania Asia Games, reflects her development as one of Singapore's dedicated para swimmers in the SB14 breaststroke category.
