- Cheryl Yong Heng Xi competed in the Mixed Optimist event at the 2023 SEA Games alongside Ethan Chia Han Wei, earning a silver medal for Singapore and showcasing strong consistency despite challenging conditions. At the 2025 SEA Games, Ethan Chia clinched gold in the boys' Optimist event, his first individual SEA Games medal, after having won the mixed Optimist silver with Cheryl Yong at the previous edition. An outstanding young talent in the Optimist class, Cheryl continues to be a prominent figure in Singapore's youth sailing development.
