- Maximilian Maeder is a Singaporean Formula Kite professional athlete and the reigning Formula Kite World, Asiad, Asian and European champion, holding the distinction of being the youngest winner in any Olympic sailing class competition. Introduced to kiteboarding by his Swiss father at age six and transitioning to kite foiling at ten, Maeder became a double world champion and won gold at the 2022 Asian Games before making his Olympic debut at Paris 2024. At the Paris 2024 Olympics, he claimed bronze in the inaugural Men's Kite event off the coast of Marseille, becoming Singapore's first Olympic sailing medallist and receiving a cash prize of $250,000 in recognition of his historic achievement. At the 2025 SEA Games in Chonburi, he continued his regional dominance, cementing his status as one of the most exciting young sailing talents in the world.
