Clarence Chew has achieved a groundbreaking feat as the first Singapore-born paddler to qualify for the Olympic men's singles event. In an electrifying all-Singapore finals match at the Asian Qualification event, Clarence Chew displayed his prowess by triumphing over his teammate Koen Pang with an impressive 4-0 victory (11-7, 11-7, 15-13, 11-4), securing his spot in the Olympics men's singles event. Remarkably, at the tender age of 14, Clarence Chew proudly represented Singapore in his inaugural major competition, the 2010 Youth Olympic Games. He first represented Singapore at the SEA Games at 18 years old and to date, he has amassed an impressive medal haul of 4 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze at the SEA Games.
