- Profile
- Tan Sze En is a two-time Singapore national champion who became only the second Singaporean female gymnast to qualify for the Olympic Games, competing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after qualifying through a reallocated spot at the 2019 World Championships in Stuttgart. Her road to Tokyo was marked by remarkable resilience — she underwent shoulder surgery following the 2018 Asian Games, sustained a partial tear of a knee ligament in 2019, and had three wrist operations in 2020, yet returned to compete on the world's biggest stage. She later joined Stanford University's women's gymnastics team, where she was named a WCGA Scholastic All-American.
