- Mahendran S/O Pasupathy started lawn bowling after being diagnosed with an eye impairment at 33 years old, placing third in B4 Men's Singles at his first competition in 2022 at the Asia Bowl for the Disabled. Despite his disability, he believes that age and physical limitations should never stop anyone from representing their country, having been exposed to competition since his schooling days as a runner. His Asian Para Games debut at the 2022 edition in Hangzhou was a source of enormous pride and accomplishment, with Mahendran describing it as a milestone that filled him with a deep sense of purpose and motivation to perform his best for Singapore and his family.
