Pencak Silat

  • Profile
    • Muhammad Syakir Bin Jeffry is a national Pencak Silat athlete who first fell in love with the sport at the age of nine after joining a training session with his brother at a community club. At the 2021 SEA Games in Hanoi, competing as a National Serviceman and firefighter at Tuas Fire Station, he claimed a joint-bronze medal in the Class H (80-85kg) Tanding event, all despite tearing his left ACL just ten weeks before competition and defying medical advice to compete, relying on intensive physiotherapy to get himself to the start line. He has also won silver at the 2018 World Pencak Silat Championships and the 2022 SEA Pencak Silat Championship, both in the Class H category.
