- Darren Yap is a Singaporean taekwondo exponent who competes in the Men's Freestyle Poomsae Individual category. After narrowly missing out on a podium finish at the SEA Games 2023 in Phnom Penh, he went on to represent Singapore at the Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou, marking a significant milestone as Singapore taekwondo's return to the Asian Games after more than a decade. He also claimed a bronze medal at the World Combat Games in Riyadh, competing among some of the top freestyle poomsae athletes in the world. He capped his journey with personal redemption at the SEA Games 2025 in Bangkok, where he earned a joint-bronze medal in his event.
