- Joan Poh Xue Hua is a Senior Staff Nurse at Tan Tock Seng Hospital who made her national rowing debut at the 2015 SEA Games in Singapore, balancing her healthcare frontline work during the COVID-19 pandemic with intensive training toward Tokyo Olympic qualification. She qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics after receiving an invitation from World Rowing, becoming one of Singapore's most remarkable dual-career athletes by competing at the Olympics while continuing to serve as a healthcare worker. Beyond her competitive career, she has also played a key role in building Singapore's women's rowing team, recruiting and developing a squad of rowers who have gone on to represent the nation at the SEA Games.
