Chess

Profile
- Ang Mei Choo Sara-ann represented Singapore in the Mixed Makruk Standard Team and Women's ASEAN Chess events at the 2025 SEA Games in Bangkok, Thailand. Makruk and ASEAN Chess are variants of the game featuring differences such as pawns starting on the third rank, the absence of castling, and a unique draw-counting system, requiring players to learn new strategic frameworks from classical chess. Singapore's chess programme at the 2025 SEA Games included dedicated training in Makruk and ASEAN Chess through curated tournaments, with Sara-ann's dual selection across two events reflecting her versatility and commitment to the national programme.
