- Gemma Rose Foo was born three-and-a-half months premature, weighing just 580 grams, and was diagnosed with spastic quadriplegia, the most severe form of cerebral palsy. She began horse riding at eight as hippotherapy at RDA Singapore, and was talent-scouted for Singapore's first para-equestrian team at just 12 years old after claiming the top placing at her very first tournament. She has since competed at four Paralympic Games, London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, consistently representing Singapore in the Grade I individual and team events at the highest level of para dressage. At the Paris 2024 Games, she placed 11th in the Grade I individual event at the Château de Versailles, competing as the world's eighth-ranked Grade I para dressage rider.
