- Sara Merican is one of Singapore's most remarkable multi-sport athletes, competing in cricket's Women's Sixes, T10, and T20 formats at the SEA Games. Her journey in cricket began at a university sports fair while pursuing a postgraduate degree at the University of Cambridge, where she fell in love with the sport after just three sessions. A Gates Cambridge Scholar holding an MPhil in Film and Screen Studies, Sara has represented Singapore internationally in both cricket and football, earned over 20 T20I caps, and in the 2024/2025 season was part of Wigan Athletic's first-ever women's team, which won the league title and secured promotion.
