Faiz Basha began skiing at a young age and steadily developed his craft through years of disciplined training and competition. Despite coming from sunny Singapore, where there is no natural winter sports environment, Faiz remained committed to pursuing alpine skiing at the highest level. During his National Service, he found creative ways to maintain his fitness and technique, adapting his training off the snow to stay competition-ready. His resilience and determination allowed him to continue progressing even while serving in tropical Singapore. After years of dedication and hard work, Faiz made history by becoming the first Team Singapore alpine skier to qualify by merit for the Olympic Winter Games, Milano Cortina 2026. His qualification for Milano Cortina 2026 marks a significant milestone for Singapore’s winter sports journey and stands as a powerful example that with focus, perseverance, and belief, anything is possible.
