- Alvin Woo has been rated first in Singapore for over a decade, won the most national championships since the Singapore Xiangqi General Association was formed, and is the first Singaporean to win a gold medal in xiangqi at the SEA Games, claiming Singapore's historic first xiangqi gold at the 2021 SEA Games in Hanoi. At the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia, he won silver in the men's standard individual event, and together with Low Yi Hao claimed gold in the men's blitz team final after an inspired comeback, winning four of their final five matches to force a tiebreaker before prevailing on individual game wins.
