Ethan Poh joined the Singapore National Team at 19 years old. Ethan Poh together with Koen Pang managed to defy all expectations and made it to the top four in the menâs doubles event on their 2018 Commonwealth Games debut. The boys made great strides in this Commonwealth Games, and the experience of competing against world class athletes in an international competition will definitely propel them further in the future. Ethan started playing table tennis at the STTA Toa Payoh Zone Training Centre at 5 years old, followed by an early stint in the STTA Junior Development Squad (formerly known as the Youth Devlopment Squad) at the STTA Training Hall where the national players were training. This was where he first met national paddlers and he vowed to train hard to become a national player. His diligence eventually paid off as he went on to the Singapore Sports School and he is now pursuing the Diploma in Business Studies at Ngee Ann Polytechnic while training full time.
